To Coach or Not to Coach? Making the Decision

The most frequent question parents contemplate is:

"How do I ensure my child turns out to be a happy, well functioning, and successful person?"

Today more than ever, parents can give their children access to education, technology, athletic training, material objects, and other fantastic opportunities enabling their offspring to become well-rounded, happy and successful. It is particularly prudent to use the teenage years as preparation time for the future.

Success and happiness, however, appear not to be based on the material objects that parents provide. In many cases even access to the state of the art technology, training, and schooling does not produce the type of results parents long to see in their children's lives.

It is clear that success and happiness are rooted in other concepts. But what?

Depending on who you speak to, you will get different answers to the question "what leads to happiness and success?" Ivana's work is based her own beliefs.

Success and happiness are rooted in:

  • Knowing and honouring your real self
  • Knowing your purpose (setting goals)
  • Acting on your values
  • Your choices

Every person is born to be someone unique and special. Trying to change the inner self in order to meet societal expectations will always lead to unhappiness and disappointment. The key is to embrace the self, live life according to one's values, follow one's purpose, and choose wisely.

More than ever families are turning to Teen Life Coaching as a means to help their teens identify their strengths and passions, build positive habits, and increase their confidence and self-esteem levels to foster happiness and success.

Teen Life Coaching provides your child with the tools that can be put to immediate use - tools that help adolescents cope with issues that can diminish their chances of joy and achievement. These include:

  • Low motivation
  • Low self-confidence and low self-esteem
  • Behavioural problems (E.g., refusing to follow rules)
  • Academic failure or recent decline
  • Negative attitude
  • Lack of responsibility and accountability
  • Stress
  • Negative habits
  • Lack of self-love and self-awareness

Teen coaching can lead to positive changes in your teen's and young adult's lives. A coach helps your teen answer questions such as:

  • Who am I?
  • Why do I have to accept responsibility?
  • What is important to me?
  • Where do I belong?
  • What am I good at?
  • What will I do in the future

A coach can help your young adult answer questions such as:

  • Who am I?
  • What do I want to do with my life?
  • Where do I want to go from this point in my life?
  • What are my goals?
  • How do I make decisions?
  • What is my passion in life?

Teen Life Coaching provides OBJECTIVE and KNOWLEDGEABLE support to teens and families throughout the adolescent years and can make the difference between a negative and positive outcome for your child.

Positive habits formed during the adolescent years are likely to lead into adulthood and early exposure to goal-setting can plant seeds for success. Working with a professional Life Coach can help your teen and your family succeed.

Teens are a very special part of our society. They are our tomorrow! Today, it is up to us to inspire them to be all they can be!
